We have begun to admit students from the wait list for some programs. We generally keep the wait list open until the end of June. We don’t mind at all if you want to call or e-mail us to see how the wait list is progressing.

The admissions notification letters were sent out via regular mail (air mail for overseas applicants) on Monday so you will be receiving yours in the next week or two if you haven’t already. Financial aid letters were included with the accept packets, and detail the grants, scholarships and loans for which you would be eligible, as long as we’ve received your financial aid application or FAFSA.

The decision making process has been a long and arduous one, with hundreds of well-qualified applicants being reviewed. This year we had record numbers of applicants to all of our graduate programs. We appreciate the time and effort you’ve all spent in putting together your material and following up with us, and hope you will be receiving good news!

Admissions committees are currently reviewing your applications. We will be mailing out decision letters in mid March. Enjoy admissions limbo!

Once you have submitted your application, our office needs to process your online application submission and any material submitted by hard copy. After your material has been processed, you can go back to see which items we’ve received. Because a large number of applicants typically submit their application within 24 hours of the deadline, it may take our office a few days to complete the processing of all material. So it’s a good idea to wait 24 hours after submitting your application – or several days if you’re one of those who submit right around or on the deadline – to see if all is complete.

We are starting to see applications come in. Applicants wonder if it makes a difference whether they submit their applications well before the deadline. While it won’t make a difference in the Admissions Committee’s evaluation of your application, it does give you peace of mind to be able to check on-line and see that all your supporting material has been received. In addition, you avoid the bottleneck that happens several days before and after the application deadline, when we’re trying to post on-line all of the supporting material we’ve received. Often we are backed up by as long as a week during this crazy time!
